Google still cares about clear titles and descriptions. This is a free, offline checker for Shopify product or collection SEO fields. Paste what you have. Get character and pixel counts, keyword placement and a plain score out of 100. Character counts are a proxy; Google cuts by pixel width, so the preview measures your text in Arial at the sizes Google uses.

One page per line: title, then a pipe with spaces around it, then the meta description. The last pipe on a line is the split, so a brand separator in the title is safe. A tab also works as the split. The keyword and domain above apply to every line.
How to read the score
- Titles of 30 to 60 characters and under 580 pixels usually display in full. Longer is not wrong; it truncates.
- Descriptions of 110 to 165 characters and under 920 pixels is a practical band, not a law.
- Without a keyword the score covers length, structure and clarity, and a clean title can still reach Strong draft. Add a keyword to enable the keyword checks, which add 30 points to the scale.
- Only a spaced separator counts as a brand separator: a hyphen inside a word such as T-shirt does not.
- This tool does not crawl your store. Ralph does that on connect.

Questions
Is this free Shopify SEO software?
It is a free checker. Full catalogue SEO with live Shopify data is what Ralph does after you connect the store.
Does Google still use meta descriptions?
Often as a candidate snippet. Clear writing still wins even when Google rewrites.
Why measure pixels as well as characters?
Google truncates by width, not by character count. Capitals and wide letters use more of the roughly 580 pixel title space, so two titles with the same character count can display differently.
